Premultiplied images

#1

Hi - I was just wondering if anyone can give me a good answer on this one. How could you tell if an image is premultiplied or not? I´m looking at an image with no apparent alpha channel and which is not rendered (its a photo or still). It has an object with a background. I´m assuming just from that that its unpremultiplied but not sure.
I understand that if it were a cg element on a black backing one would see the edges as being rough without anti-aliasing. but in this case thats not possible to determine.
Many thanks in advance.

I should add that I´m viewing the Tiffs in Nuke.

sounds like a non-premultiplied image with no associated alpha. ie a frame or still to me.
