It can be a sketch or a full painting but make sure it’s the oldest one you got.

I only started digital painting about 4 months ago and this is my first attempt with my tablet.
I was just looking to draw anything so I drew a covert dentist.
I stuck this over in wip…it was a quick sketch on the wacom (had it for almost a week now) then I decided to try to paint it…
hopefully it will not only get easier, but it’ll get better too…

I just started about a month ago. First attempt at a digital painting (Aside from one “pencil” sketch in painter.):

This is at about 60% done. I lost ambition and simplified the wing and polished it off some in photoshop. I just really didn’t like the way it was turning out. Ah well, it was a first attempt.
This is my first painting. I did it as soon as I downloaded Painter IX trial! (I still have 12 days or so left lol)

You were all so good from the first painting on. I have painted for several months and I still can’t paint as good as you. I have a lot to go through.

This one was my first fully finished digital painting, but I think my case was a bit different because I was already a traditional artist for many years before I started using digital.
This is my first attempt at digital painting, I was quite into drawing manga at the time, this was painted in photoshop with a mouse

This is my first attempt at a more realistic painting with my wacom tablet

There was a thread on this before…have a gandour, pretty nifty stuff for firsts, lol.
This is the very first thing I did with the Wacom tablet I got back in March. I have no clue what it is, but it looks kind a cool. As for “very first one done with a mouse in MS Paint”, I know for a fact that I didn’t save it.

(meh I have been so occupied with the university, I rarely have time to do non-traditional stuff…)
I used MSPaint many years ago on a Win 3.1 486DX to help with this illustration. Although a lot of the work was finalized on paper with a pen, I’d still consider this my first digital illustration because without the computer I don’t think I would have been able to get everything to line up correctly.
Sorry, this one hurts your eyes if you stare at it too long. Inspired by M.C.E. of course.

A few years later I scored a Mac with Photoshop 3.0 from a friend and did the coloring of this one with a mouse. Sorry the image is really tiny. This is the only copy of this image that I could find (and yes, I too was seduced by the evil filter effects of Photoshop).

well…there are some far more superior first time pics on here than mine…
…but here is my first one that is not yet done; I just got my wacom tablet last week and I need to make some brushes for the fur, as I’m not happy with the brushes I have now but…

and this one I put a little more effort into it but admittedly is not my best but is my first “finished” one.

Umm…his eyes are all black on purpose (it’s a character) and I wasn’t striving for realism, really - but DID utilize Enayla’s tutorials on lips and eyes (didnt see the hair one until after this was finished)
It’s a character in a novel I am working on and it’s not how I see him in my head, so I am going to retry until I get it right. This is what I call serious doodling, but not serious work. lol
I’m still playing and doodling with the various programs: Corel, PhotoShop and PaintShop Pro 9, they were birthday presents and prior to that, I haven’t done anything noteworthy with art for a couple of years and these are my first attempts at digital painting (I used airbrush for the most part, with some color pencil on finer details)
i was… i think 10 years old when i did my 1st digital painting… i don’t even remember of what it was.
I did one with a mouse. I remember it. I still have it unfinished on my hard drive and I won’t break anybody’s monitor posting that. lol
