Posing for animation reference?

#1

I cant seem to find a good reference on how to sculpt / pose a model for rigging / animation?

Ive seen T pose, A pose, and a relaxed A pose with model on tip-toes.

T pose I felt was the easiest to rig with but you end up having to sculpt in some details as blendshapes (elbows, shoulders, etc). A pose gave the least amount of trouble but there was still corrections needed. Tip-Toes A pose seems versatile but If I wanted a character to stand normally, id have to blendshape that in.

I cant decide. Is there any reference or guides anywhere that could way in on the pros / cons of what to sculpt for? Its frustrating.

Any tips would be great. Im thinking just to go with T pose cause I end up needing to blendshape corrections anyway so I figure I should save myself the rigging time.

Im not even going for that detailed a model. Just a simple cartoon male and female.
