No offense mate, but you’re not going to impress or interest people with that kind of thing around here. Actually, this type of work is probably rather frowned upon here - this site is for original artworks, not taking popular images and making sigs out of them. You’ll notice that we don’t even allow sigs here.

Not that I have seen the image in question, but I beg to differ. Not that sigs are my favorite form of digital art, but I think that they have there place along all other forms of digital art. People who practice or like sig art I think have more than enough reason to be visiting this site and posting their works and questions.
I find your statement is somewhat arrogant, elitist and negative.
Further more, I presume that your comments have ended up having a negative impact on a member of the community. I assume this given the users edited post

Its disappointing to see. I think this community should be helping and encouraging users of all skill levels where they can. Not telling them to bugger off and make them fearful to ask questions.

I am well aware that I am begging to differ from a forum mod, and have admittedly not seen the image in question, however I still beg to differ.
Also don’t assume my post to be about semantics and nit picking over forum rules, I am offended at the quote above and am using the forum rules to justify my personal position on this issue, and why I think that it is wrong.

Firstly I will bring your attention this forums own posting rules, in particular parts 3, and 4, however all 4 posting rules are relevant in this case, and haven’t been taken into consideration before this mod has posted i believe.

(I am arguably in breach of the first sentence, however I think doing “sigs” would fit into the the second sentence, seeing as it was most likely made on a computer and is an image, so would be covered in the “all things related to computer graphics” aspect of the rules. (It is this part that I personally take offence to. Saying to someone that there work is not welcome and will be frowned upon if posted here is not, “being constructive and related to improving the quality of the art work” in the slightest. If anything its arrogant and elitiest, and not an attitude that I think should be encouraged in the slightest, or used, particularly from a forum mod.)

Maybe go and post this in the AE forum and see the kind of responses you get, some mo’graph work is not that different at the end of the day to doing sigs in a sense. Just because it has a timeline and you might need to roto a few frames makes it more worthy??

I am well aware that biting the hand that feeds me so to speak, could/will end up in my getting banned from this forum. However I care not, I don’t wish to be a member of a forum that is arrogant and elitist. Where one from of computer art is not considered as worthy as others. I hope that this doesn’t turn out to be the case, but quite frankly I am extremely unimpressed at this thread, and even the need for this post.

i didn’t know they don’t welcome people that are beginners photoshop in this forum
guess i was wrong for coming here in the first place…
i found a pretty welcoming sig based forum for me… im in lucidgfx, and they critic my sigs so i guess i found a better place… its also good for me since im pretty new to photoshop =)
