Photshop Brushes for Face Texture Painting?

#1

I am in the process of painting my color maps for a character’s face. I was curious if anyone had a preference on photoshop brushes to use.

Also, is it a must that i buy a tablet to paint with? I find it difficult at times to paint with my mouse.

Thanks!

check out DeviantArt, there are tons of free brushes.

In my experience, a tablet is a must. It is impossible to get pressure sensitivity out of a mouse, which is what allows for nice blending and shading.

If you can swing it I would go with one of the larger ones of these: (I have an older model at work)

At Home however I have this, which is much more affordable:

Thanks! I actually hooked up an old bamboo yesterday. It isn’t the best but got me used to using a tablet. Its the Bamboo “Fun”. I want the Intuos!
