photoshop layers to flash color problem

#1

Hi all, don’t know if I should be posting this in a flash forum, but here goes. I am attempting to import photoshop layers into flash, no matter what option I pick, the layers always appear in flash with a saturated color. I have posted two comparisons between the original PSD file and the SWF file, any ideas of how to stop this?

Check your color profile in the PSD. Flash doesn’t use color profiles so some color profiles can cause a color shift. I usually use something like monitor RGB. Dunno if that is it, but it would be my first guess.

Yeah, it’s probly your colour profiles, experiment with different ones, I think I remember being told that CMYK is more stable when exporting to other programs, but don’t quote me… good luck finding a solution mate.

I checked the colour profile in photoshop, it is using sRGB IEC61966

I went thru flash’s help guide and it says it handles RGB best, so this colour profile should work in theory

I am making an animated film so it is quite important I have both photoshop and flash working together

I have narrowed it down to the following possibilities:

1.compatibility issues between photoshop cs2 and flash cs3, i tried to replicate the problem on a computer which had only cs3 software, i used the same colour profile and it all worked perfectly…
2.my laptops display?
3. flash/photoshop may have bug?

i’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem ever? I find that when importing a PSD file created in coral painter the colour issue is non exsistant, while I could work in painter and flash I would like this problem resolved, so if anyone has any suggestions…

Isn’t that your solution to the problem?

it would be if I had 24 hour access to the computer I tried it on, ideally I would like it to work on the laptop which I will be doing the majorty of work on

Hmm… can I recommend you collect a free trial of Photoshop CS3?
