Photoshop and Linear Workflow ... wtf?

#1

We are working with 3dsmax and fusion in a LWF pipeline, which works like charme. Combining all the linear EXR Elements simply rocks in Fusion.

But we also have clients in the print business, who work with Photoshop. I tried a lot, but there is obviously no chance to comp linear footage properly. Photoshop doesn’t even support 16bit float! If I’m informed correctly, what PS does when you switch to 16 bit mode, is integer.

Anyways, if there is any chance to do a linear comp and add a gamma on top, plaese tell me!
Can’t believe to step back to the old days, just to satisfy my client.

Thanks
Michael

Did you try Edit/Color Setting/More Options/Blend Colors using Gamma 1,00?

Yes, but I couldn’t get the result I want. Is anybody reading this who actually use linear Images in Photoshop? How do you do it?
