pflow keyframe

#1

Hi there,

im a newbie about pflow. I just wanted to know a simple thing. Isnt there any way to start a particle parameter value from the frame i want. For example: on a simple event i have spinning parameters attached. And it starts with frame 0. is it possible to make this start from frame 5. I tried basic key framing but didnt work out.

Any help would be nice thnx

Hey anarchydrone, i can only think in 2 ways of doing it

1st - sending the particles to another event at frame 5.
2nd - Data Operator

The data operator setup is really simple. you just have to use Quaternions to spin the particles and a condition to make it work only after the 5th frame. Check it out:

1 is an “Output Standard” suboprator using Spin: Quaternions
2 is a “Convert” set to Real --> Quaternions.
3 is a “Scalar” set to Real. That value will determine how much your particles will spin.
4 is a “Vector” suboperator. You put 1 on the axis you want it to spin. (i’m using X in this case)
5 is a “Condition”. It will determine the time that you want your particles to start spinning. If you put 5 there, your particles will star spinning at 6.
6 is an “Input Standard” suboperator set to Time: Absolute. It will put the time value at the condition and, when this valeu is higher then the # specified at the condition, it will make the spin start work.

Have a look on this file. It’s working fine:

EDIT: I just noticed that 1 unit at the Scalar is a really really high value. And 0,001 is still fast so i’ll see how it really works and let you know.

So, on the Scalar (3) you just have to change the “Output Type:” from “World Unit” to “Angle” and check the “use spin as rate” option. Now it works just like the spin operator
