PC upgrade

Hi everyone!

I should really upgrade my PC soon so i’m looking at new machines and specs. Hardware is not my strong point so I try to avoid building PCs. I also like the idea of having something that, if I moved country (currently living in Germany), i won’t be required to sell and buy a new machine later.

I currently use a Dell XPS laptop, which tbf has done a great job considering it’s a laptop (i’m a Maya user FYI). It’s outdated, though, and only boasts 4GB RAM and i5 processor. I’ve recently been intrigued by the Mac minis and was wondering if anyone has good knowledge of them or any other suggestions?

Have you taken a look at the ASUS ROG series laptops? I picked up a G750JM for my son to use for game development, but it is fully capable of running Maya or any other of the like as a desktop. Clear display, lots of RAM (32GB I believe his has), with two 2.5" drive bays (which I put in an SSD for boot/software and a 1TB 2.5" for storage).

Some of their models have integrated RAID support (0/1).

just a suggestion to take a look under the hood.
