painting weights on updated geomettry

Hello!

so ive been painting some weights on my characters face and i needed to add a few more edges to it. so i did this on a duplicated version and substituted the geomettry afterwards. This seemed to have worked, however when i go to paint weights now over the newly added points, they go a bit crazy and dont follow along with how my other points are skinning. so the old points are acting fine, i can paint weight on them, but there must be something i need to do in order to make the new parts behave…

I’ve been stuck with this for a while now and hoping someone can help me out?

What software are you using?

I remember something like this happening to me in Maya a long time ago and if I remember correctly then it had something to do with still having modeling construction history on the character.

ahhh see i had already done that earlier, but have added influences since and the same problem occured… I think that may have done the trick anyway, Thanks!
