Using the trial (I did not play much w/ it, yet) I ran into my first issue quickly w/ color management.
I use a dual monitor set up, Apple Cinema display on my right (holds pallettes, reference, etc. It also contains the Mac OS menu bar and my dock – I do this to make my main monitor as large as possible for painting), I paint the main image on an Eizo CG241W(wide RGB gamut ability).
In Painter X, I could “fool” the CM and select the Eizo calibrated profile in my CM set up (but P11 thinks where your OS menu is that is THE monitor, Photoshop, however, stealthily behind the scenes, switches profile of your monitor depending on which screen you have that image on) . Now what certainly looks like an improved CM, I have lost that control. Hence, when I run Painter 11 and put the main image on my Eizo, it gooses the color up too intensely and does not match the same image open in PS. However, if “rearrange” my monitors and put the OS menu bar on the Eizo, Painter’s CM lets the image now match what I see in PS, as it now views the Eizo as “in charge”.
This work around is clearly NOT what I want to do. Any ideas, help?
