paint and repaint again and again...

#1

Hi everybody! I feel it’s time to improve an old paint that I did some months ago when I started to paint. After some art concepts have matured in my mind I feel prepared to improve this paint, so the first thing to aprouch is the drawing structure. here it is, and let’s make it, but now, not alone!

Hi! To put the light and dark I created a layer mask to block and define some shapes. I though about where the light is coming and about the textures and their respective lighting values.
How I’m going with the painting?

Thanks for the attention :wip:

Take photo references. Set up objects of similar reflectivity and shape, set up the lighting just like in your painting, and then take photo references.

I guess it was the final image, any comments? I Also put the description below, because the image is based in brazilian local culture. Enjoy!

I made this image thinking about the opposition between classical and popular culture. I changed the first name of a classical musician Sebastian Bach to a brazilian way to say Sebastian: Sebastiao. So, this brazilian name are very commom in the Brazil northeastern and I decided to incorporate a very popular instrument in this Brazilian region, the accordion. And who is playing this intrument is an popular character called Cangaceiro. This character lived in Brazil in between the sec XIX and XX stealing big farms, kidnapping colonels, etc…
