Page turn in maya
rapsalands, very well done. i see both the page turn in a similar manner; is there a way to change the feel of the page turning (not unique as the previous) so that it looks natural? also, i would suggest you to use a little bit of dynamics, may be a a little breeze flipping the pages
thanks for the comment boucha.
regarding feel of the page turn, it can be changed for different pages in different ways. in a jiffy.
and for dynamics, i am not very much familer with dynamics actually. but surely will try.
That’s great! Good luck with it. And yeah, you gotta try out the dynamics, it’s way cooler results you get.
Hi vortexZero, extreamly sorry for not watching ur comment, and ya for ur question, it has been done by deformers…
Maybe we’ll see a tutorial about that on your blog
ahaha sure buddy, maybe i got some video demos
Very cool example, but personally I think that using dynamics (when all you need are several pages) is a more flexible way of creating this kind of effect than doing it with deformers, as it gives you the edge of flexibility and variety in page movement. Take a look at my example. As the description says, it took only 20 minutes to set-up this simulation, and if you already have your nCloth page attributes saved as a preset, it’s even quicker.
Now, I did not yet try to simulate a dynamic flipping multi-paged thick book, like a 100-paged one, but I believe that using nCloth in such case could be a pain.
PS. I saw an absolutely incredible looking book rig made by John David Marte that is joint-dependant. I highly recommend watching its demonstration on YouTube. It’s marvellous.
