overwrite tiff file thats open ?

#1

Hi,
Is is possible to overwrite a tiff file that is being used by 3dsmax ?
Everytime I try photoshop tells me its being used by another application.
This first time I have seen the problem since I normally use png,tga or jpgs.
I don’t want to have to move the tiff to another folder or some work around like that.
Just wondering if there is some setting inside photoshop that I can turn off.

cheers

How about saving with a different file name from the original. Like if you are going to rework with Photoshop, add a PS to the filename. This almost sounds too simple, but it’s what I do using Painter an Photoshop at the same time.

Thanks but that slows down productivity.
I like the way 3dsmax constantly reloads textures without having to manually do it.
So your doing some texturing in photoshop hit save, go to 3dsmax and your texture is updated. Saving with a different file name defeats the purpose.

thanks
