Original Game: Mysticora Battles

#1

Hello everyone,

  What we are lookin for:

We are looking for 3D-artists for our fantasy battles RTS game. This is a “hobbyist project” meaning that we won’t be able to pay anyone directly. We will share the proceeds fairly though if we manage to sell it.

  Our Team:
We already have at least 3 programmers (including me) and a musician. We will be using the "Torque Game Engine" from [www.garagegames.com](http://www.garagegames.com), or more precisely the "RTS Start Pack Tool" they now offer for that. This will take a lot of work out of the programming.
The graphics format of the Torque game engine is DTS/Millkshape, btw.

  The Project:

We will be making a fantasy-battles RTS game (similar to Medieval: Total War or Stronghold) where the composition of the armies is not determined by a built-in economy system but externally through the continually running Mysticora PBeM campaign game (www.mysticora.com). The combat system will be basically be the “stone-scissors-paper”-system meaning that there will be no dominant troop type because each troop type will have its nemesis. Besides “normal” medieval troop types such as knights, pikemen, archers, etc. there will also be fantasy troop types such as mages, monsters and heroes. Large-scale battles with hundreds of models are planned. Siege warfare might be implemented at a later stage but will definitely also be a part.
The above concept should result in a totally new RTS game feel because it does not only matter if you lose or win a battle but how high your losses are and exactly which units you have left (to fight future battles).

 Current Stage:

We are currently in the conception phase. Meaning that anyone joining now can have a fundamental influence on the game design. First project discussions will be starting in January (2005).

 sincerely,
 Channing Jones

Very Interesting! I don’t have the torque engine but I use 3dstudio max and can help with concept art and story boards.
