Organic Human Character with many Hard Surface accessories.

Hi all,
I think I’ve just got my latest character to a stage were she’s ready to Rig.

I’ve done some basic hard surface and organic rigging before and was hoping to use a HumanIK setup (in Maya) for this one.
However I was wondering what the best way of attaching the grenades, gun holster, bullets and all the other hard surface bits was.
Or if there’s any tutorials anyone can point me too?

Hi,
If your pileline doesn’t involve motion capture, I don’t think using humanIk is a good way to go.
For the pieces attached to your character, if it’s in the area where skin weight value is absolute white or close, it’s fine to just set the skin weight on that piece the same as the area it attached. If it happened to be in the area where skin weights kind of blend inbetween, using rivet would be better.
If the thing need to flop around you may need an extra joint for it.
