Options and Recommendations - Choosign school

Hello my name is Ralis, I’m from Mexico.

Last year finished high school, now I am looking for a good training in the field that interests me, animation and video games.

The point is that there are not many quality alternatives to have a formal education in those areas in my city, there are schools here are very expensive or a very low level of education.

My goal is to make animation and art for video games and movies.

My situation:

I have two alternatives, an online training (Animation Mentor, Animschool) or go to study abroad (Canada or US). It is worth mentioning that I really do not mind the “paper”, I want to learn well with good teachers.

At the option of studying online is that there are great schools like Animation Mentor and Animschool that for a much lower price I can get a good training and great professionals supporting me. But these schools offer very specific programs and I want to have a general training and then find a specialty.

At the option of studying outside Mexico, I searched a lot but the only thing I found were expensive schools in expensive cities … Any recommendation? Seeking a quiet town with not very expensive cost of living and quality schools that do not have stratospheric prices as VFS or Gnomon. One fear is that I have to pay much for a bad school.

I hope you can help me. Thank you.

On the internet you will find a lot that can teach you the whole process but it’s a bit more difficult to find help if you have a problem. And it’s less personal.

When you study it in school you have the personal touch, the help you need and you get a broad knowledge about averything 3D.

I know there are a lot of schools that are very expensive. But there are also cheap ones.
Like in Belgium a place to live in is 300 to 400 euro/ month and school costs about 600/ year ( is changing this year but won’t go over 1000). this is a lot cheaper then schools like Stanford which is 60 000 for 4 years. And it isn’t a bad school. If you look on the site for the school they show where they do their interns. One of them is DICE, the creators of Battlefield and the Microsoft Game Studios.

The studios don’t really care to what school you went, as long as you have a good portfolio.
