OpenGL 2.0

#1

Hi,

I just downloaded the specs PDF of OGL2.0 and since im a noob i thought it wa worth reading, it’s over 300 pages so by the time i finish this ill be old and gray

I had a question… i’ve read the first couple pages but im not sure how OGL2.0 is used.
Do i need to download a library, and where do i download it ?

Is this only available for c/c++ ?

I tried searching opengl.org but i cant download anything for opengl2.0 !
Maybe im completely wrong, so please correct me…

thanks,
Galo

goede dag galo!

you can download opengl 2.0 on http://www.opengl.org/documentation/implementations.html for your platform.

it’s not only for vc++, but it’s the most common combination (vc++ and opengl) and you’ll find loads of docs for vc++. but i think they’re developing opengl 2.0 for java, aren’t they?

Yeah i’m still waiting for a decent library for c#, now there’s only CsGL which i don’t like, although you can use managed c++ in c# the implementation of the OGL2.0 wouldn’t be a problem!

#5

Btw, i dont see a download for OGL2.0, only http and ftp link for v1.1,… can anyone help me ?

*edit : sorry, found it via google, why do they name it opengl95.exe ? why not 2.0, well doesn’t matter anyway.
Installed it, now is the time to search how to use this in c# thanks guys
thanks

There is a .net opengl wrapper by Randy Ridge (real name?) in his Tao framework. his site is under maintenance now, but there seems to be a dowload here. It is used in the Axiom 3d rendering library too (c# Ogre port). It’s not opengl2.0 yet, but i guess that will come.

yeah, it’s confusing that it’s still called opengl95 but it’s the correct file!

Thanks, downloaded it, looks promesing but there’s no manual for the tao framework to download, ill check on google.

cheers,
