Open Figure Drawing Workshop - William Bouguereau Master Copy - with Rebeccak 012

Hi Glenn, :wavey:

great idea, which would fit also well with his bird head. LOL

Nevertheless, the idea is really good. I have the wings already forwards my eyes.

And if he had bird legs with claws, thus, then he would know shorter legs as now and with this he claws into the calves of the victim. Thus it would get also a way out. Hmm, as you already said, then he fly away.

Ciao,
Ravena

hi guys, this will be my first master copy.

i decided to start practicing my drawing cos my skills reallly realllly suck, especially when trying to draw from my head.

Just sketching & shading on paper for this one. don’t think i should go to colour yet when i don’t even have the basics for monotone shading.

Hey guys, just checking in ^^

Ericyeo - colouring really looking good, the green looks wonderful! The guy lying on the floor behind the two of them - that colouring is especially great. Really smooth and like skin in dim light

Tauism: Good start, looking forward to seeing more!

Glenn: Interesting point there about the spiral motion in the picture, your example displays it really well!

Hi Rebecca and Everyone
Worked on big figures and flying devil.
Practicing principle of overlapping shapes to create more depth in big figure composition.
Made spikey-feather-type of things on demon to give more motion and direction.
Kind of reminds me of fighting roosters.
A lot of action when they collide.
#2 Just a light and color study.

Spirit Dreamer and Elsie Thank you very much. Both of u have definitely boosted my confident. I think me going to attempt the background tomorrow.

Spirit Dreamer : Your piece is looking good. The spikey-feather on the leg seems a little too long and some detailing will make it more fantastic.

And now, back to play my mahjong. heehee

Hi Rebecca and Everyone

Worked on flying devil a little. Making his face and head look more like a bat
to go with his wings better.
Mostly at this point beginning to think about direction of light in the composition.
And also using minimal color effectively to create mood and emotion.

Glenn,

Looking cool, but now I think it might be a good time to rein in the effects and go for some hard core painting. The problem is that I immediately think of ā€˜swirl effect’ when I look at your image, which has so much potential, but will not be as interesting with the effects untweaked and painted over. Of course, this is just my opinion, but I really would love to see what you can do without going for the effects that are available in Painter’s menu set.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#377

Hi …Rebecca…
You can always imagine that you never heard of Painter, special effects, and digital art,
Then you might enjoy the painting more. LOL!!.. JUST KIDDING… :wavey: I will get back to some serious painting , starting now…

Hey have you noticed that this guy used the same spiral or swirl composition in that other
painting of his …the one with the Satyr and Wood Nymphs …the one that MR MU wants
to paint, …The composition is almost exactly the same,…just different figures…wonder
which one came first…

THANKS for the feedback Rebecca, I know how busy you are, with your work shop and all.
Hope it’s off to a GREAT start
