Love the traditional look in your paint, amazing :applause:

#463

DigitalSol,

For this one all coloring/painting will be in photoshop… as far as I know right now, at least. By the way, at what resolution is your piece? Thanks!

#464

aggie93,

Yes… I haven’t done many digital paintings like this - so it’s not like I have a set system… But yes, I did the actual drawing in pencil on paper, scanned that into the computer, and now I’m doing all the painting in photoshop.

As for the ankle… now that you mention it, it does look a little thick… I’ll have to keep a closer eye on the reference! Thanks!

#465

Botched, is at 2500px * 3300px at 300dpi’s, thanks for the quick answer.

#466

Hey BurntBob, don’t know why your post appears just recently, oh well:shrug:, for your first efford and for any affort, is just fantastic, congrats, you must to have a solid artistis base.

#467

Ok this post might take 24hrs to post :banghead:

Here is my first draft. I’ve been having A LOT of difficulty with this one, I suppose I seemt o always pick the most complicated pieces

I know the proportions are alittle wrong, but I’ve scanned it in photoshop and will correct the on there as well as marking out the dark areas.

I think I started on one too advanced. I will choose a less detailed one, maybe one of the nude ones.

BTW, if this new validation feature i got on my account, that limits my post doesnt go, it will force me not to bother in participating in these activities. Mainly due to time differences with how fast the admin can validat my posts!

Hi,

I didn’t forget this, a bit rough but finished, hehe.

Great work, whereever I take a look in this thread!

Ciao,
Ellie

Ellie just amazing work love the feeling that your paint owns.

Here is mine, right now Im in the hat.

#470

Hi again.

Looks like I am going to need the whole four weeks to finish just this one…

My previous updates are pages back, now, but here’s my latest. Been working on it, just not enough obvious changes to post.
Still lots of tidying up to do with respect to values and colours, but it looks doable, now.
(I’ll just have to live with her squashed torso and big head.)

Burntbob excellent work on getting Mona in proportion! Can’t believe this is your first go with your tablet.

[color=Yellow]Fantastic work in this thread, everyone!

Hi all,

I am really happy to found this page and this forum its great to see all this pictures, but I am a little bit affraid to post some of my “tryouts” in copying this references because I am a reall beginner also in reall drawing on the paper (Anatomy, face, and all other stuff;o)…) So my question is if its okay to post my work here or if you have a special thread for “absolutly beginners” ;o)

Sorry for my bad english I am a swiss and totaly not used to writte or speak english

Cheers,

SwissGirl

Hi, SwissGirl, welcome!

Anyone (beginners and up) can take part in this workshop. (Which copy will you be working on?)

(I'm also a beginner in painting, drawing, and anatomy, but still took part here.)

There is also a Beginners' Lounge in this forum so feel free to post in both. (Sorry for the clunky code below; not sure how to give you a straight forward link...)

Today’s progress… a couple more hours in photoshop… Not extremely excited about how the skin tones are comeing out… but I’ll stick with my base colors and do so tweaking farther down the road.

A couple detail shots at %100

#474

Okay… one more for today. Mid section and part of the leg… another 1.5 hours…

#475

Botched…superb work on this from start to finish.
Digitalsol…I envy the patience you have to do such fantastic work, fantastic!!

Here is a little study sketch, working really fast, just trying to get a feel for the piece:

#476

Nice job everyone!

It has been a loooooong time. I have been super busy and I still am. this is what I have so far on the zorn painting…

I will update this thing when I have the time.

#477

From my little practice sketch above I decide to do another more in depth copy of the Pelt Merchant. So far 1.5 hrs in Painter, doing a lot of blending, which is not my usual style, but wanted to get the right look for the painting.

#478

Can those people who have painted this piece in this thread please tell me…

Out of 1 to 10, how hard is it to paint tiger skin!!:scream:

#479

Okay… I think I’m fairly happy with the basic rendering, though I probably need to give it a rest and come back to it fresh… Another 2 hours in photoshop…

#480

Morning!

Ellie - I really like your version, congrats for finishing! Die einzige Kritik betrifft die Schreibweise von “Merchant”…

Enrique - just amazing work:thumbsup: , can’t wait to see this finished, good luck with the hat, it almost killed all my patience…

YMS - Nice progress with your Mona!

botched - looove how your work comes along, the detail shots are great!

everyone else - keep up the good work here!

Still work needed for my piece, but I hope I’m closer now to finish…

Have all a nice day!
