bakatron,

You are absolutely welcome to join! There are still 3 weeks left in this Workshop. You are free to use whatever program or programs that you wish.

That was really hard but finally Im pleased with the mantle

I think that still lacks of cast shadows from the hair but this will be the last for today.

Later!!

and this is pretty much how i start with things. i make a simple breakdown before i hit anything. i never try to draw anything directly unless everything is laid out.

i’m going to be dividing my time between the other thread that i’m on, this, and work over the next few weeks so i hope i get enough time to work with this. i do hope i get to learn alot which is what i’m striving for. i do know im incredibly careless at times though :stuck_out_tongue:

bakatron,

Great to see you joining in! I recommend filling the bkgrd with a tone…makes things a lot easier!

Enrique,

Your cloth is looking awesome!

Small update from me:

[left]Still not getting a lot of time to work on this…hopefully tomorrow.

Bakatron:
Good to see you are in, your schematic looks very good.

Rebecca:
That looks really good, the only thing for me is the foreground character, but I think you are still working, so, great update.

Here is mine, is not too much, but I have lots of work here,

Bye

Enrique,

Ah, I see the hands are really starting to develop! Something I really like about your image and didn’t comment on before is the construction of the chair ~ really great sense of the wood there! I love how the arm interlocks with the backing.

Hopefully I’ll get some time to work on this tonight!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Digital Sol - Great clothes all around but I was totally blown away by that mantle! Good work!

Rebeccak - Love the lighting in yours. Cool detail on the bottle’s shadow!

Here’s me humble piccie. About 1.10 hour  (and about half of it erasing :p).
I spent a lot of time making sure I got the legs right this time. Still, I’m guessing I’ll only start seeing all the pic’s faults after I post it, as usual…
Shading later.

Hi Sonia!

It’s great to see you here ~ this OFDW has been a bit quiet, I don’t know if it’s because the Forum moved, and the link changed, or if it’s the CGChallenge and CGPortfolio that have been distracting  but it’s always nice to have more people participating here! Thank you for your comments!

I quite like your drawing and the way that you are analyzing form. I would say to watch the way the foot connects with the ankle, as you really want his right leg to feel as though it is bearing the weight of the pose.

Looking forward to your new update!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Hello everyone, here is a little update, I found hard to render the right character, his hair is getting me mad, any tips for paint the hair are welcome, thanks.

@Rebecca:
Great work, I love the glass of the bottle on the table, the details at the food are really good. I always enjoy your updates.

@Sonia:
Thank u very much, as for ur draw, I think is very good, a hint that I can give is, try drawing the negative space, where is nothing, I mean, generally we concentrate too much in the inner details and dont care too much for the enviorement, this can be great help, try it, u will realize that it makes it more easy.

Thanks.

RebeccaK and Digital Sol - you guys are totally kicking ass in this. It’s amazing watching you guys - i dont think i’ll come to that level anytime soon, but hey - its all for fun

Sonia - I love your anatomical layout.

and this is how far i’ve gotten - im really busy nowadays but trying to work on this. ive added a subtle gradient layer which i imported from photoshop into sketchbook pro as a background. when i reduced the image to 600px in width, the grad resolution sort of fell so it looks rather weird right now. i did do some second stage figure break down. i think i’ll spend some time properly drawing it properly… i draw in a rather freestyle manner so i it looks a bit different right now.

Bakatron, Awesome start, I love the way you put everything together, looking forward to seeing more!

#177

Enrique,

Great stuff!

abbas,

Thank you for the compliment! It’s great to see your work, and I look forward to seeing it develop. One question, are you able to use a soft brush in SketchbookPro? Just out of curiosity. A lot of the work I have seen using that program are mostly hard edged, linear drawings, so I wasn’t sure. Let’s see another update!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Rebeccak & Digital Sol: you guys rock~~~! i haven’t so much patience as that. my patience’s top limt just 5-7 hours, here is 3 hours version, and i feel finished yet, haha. forgive me.
