Rebecca: thanks!!

Digital Sol: I love your work overall, but Jesus’ right cheek (for him) keeps distracting me. It looks almost like a white mask, but a little blending might solve it…I find it incredible you can tackle such a big canvas at once, btw!

#142

Maladie:

Thanks for the advice, as a fact I realized that detail too, but I didnt know what to do, I will try to follow your hint, thanks a lot.

Really, is not so hard to work in a big canvas, i think, the trick for do this is work from larger areas (when i beggin this painting I worked it with the zoom at 2,5 percent and paint with brushes about 300 pixels), to smaller (now that Im on the details Im working with a zoom of 250 % or more, and in some areas Im painting with brushes of 3 pixels.)

A thing that has been usefull for me is, when u work a big paint, u better work in 2 or 3 layers. Because that way your computer dont suffer for the memory, this painting have 2 layers, 1 for the background other for the foreground, and is 3300 * 2329 at 300dpi’s.

Thanks a lot Maladie

Morning everyone:wavey:

Wow, it’s just amazing to see what you’ve all done in little more than a week…especially Elliepower, Digital Sol and Becca: Great work with the supper!
I’m really envy, I’ve no spare time for painting at the moment:cry:, but I’m following the progress here eagerly!

Becca: Congrats to you, not only for your amazing painting, but for the new, better place for the Anatomy Forum! You’ve made this an always interesting, growing place with a lot of activity due to all your advertising, encouragement and energy!:applause:

Sabie,

Thanks so much, I so appreciate your comments! I am really happy and I have to say that it’s not just my efforts but everyones’ effort here that have made the Anatomy Forum a really vital place…think of all of the amazing work produced in some of the past OFDWs alone! I certainly couldn’t do that myself!

So a big thank you to everyone here, because the success of the forum has everything to do with peoples’ hard work and enthusiasm here.

Cheers,

#145

Everything has changed… Great forum division though

So much beautiful work here!

I don’t think I’ll be able to participate in this one as I’ve got a ridiculous deadline over the next 2 weeks for a whole bunch of illustrations/paintings. I’m struggling a bit.

I’ll come back and comment when I’m done and if there’s still time, I will tackle that master painting!

#146

Another study, this time of the woman in the background. I noticed a worrying tendency to tell her to get a grip:). She’s just grieving too hard. Hehehe…No seriously, those faces are really beautiful!

#147

Hello everyone, here is a little update, for the supper, I made a new layer for J’s hair.

@daWinky, thanx Im doing my best, glad u like, I hope to see you on the next IFDW I like ur work very much. :wavey:

@Maladie: ur studies looks very good, but i think that u can still apply a deep shadow, I think that will make that it looks even better, I tried to follow your advice and I blend the face a little more with a darker color, hope u and everyone could give me an opinion, BTW thanks.

:wavey:

#148

Enrique,

Beautiful update! I haven’t been able to work on mine these past couple of days, but hope to get back to it soon.

The hair looks great, I think the only thing right now is the hard edge on J’s cheek * also, I think the angle of the part in the hair might be a little different from the original, but that’s such a minor thing. I think the background behind J is a bit darker, and the shadow edge a bit softer * but I know you’re still refining things. Great to see your update!

Cheers,

*Rebeccak

#149

Thanks Becca, I will try to blend a little bit more the cheek, I still haven’t work on the background but I will think about it when I will do, thanks a lot for your suggestions, I will sure follow them all.

Yeah, yesterday I realized that u havent update ur work, I hope you can get enough time for work it, i enjoy always your post.

Thanks again

Hi everyone,

@maladie
Your studies looks fantastic, go on with it!

@DigitalSol
Great to see you with such patience, wonderful.

Hehe, patience… höhämm. I tried another one, paint-hopping, I’ve never done a 15-min.-Sketchaton before, so I did this. It is difficult to match the right lines, the bizeps is a bigzeps, lol. The things I do must even be a lit funny or melancholy so that I am motivate to paint it. The guy is very funny cause he wears a “schiesser” (a type of underwear) and he has a gun in his hand, this guy I would give the name “schiesser” (somebody who shoots) in german.

LG,
Ellie

Ellie, that looks great for only 15 minutes, good job, I think I will try one too.

The patiente is my challenge for this workshop, I have never painted something that take me more than 1 week lol, generally all my illustrations take me 1 or 3 days and thats all, patiente is something that i dont own, but I want for this Im pushing myself to the end of this, I think that the only way for get patiente is paint something that requires is.

Keep on working because you are going great with the supper.

Great to see your sketches! Do you plan to take this further? Are you totally finished with the larger work?

Small update for me - I haven’t had a lot of time in the past few days, but I definitely wanted to get in a bit of time tonight - so I worked a bit more on the table items, J’s left hand, and the leftmost character.

Here is a gif comparison between my last and latest versions:

Awesome Rebecca, I have to start! But I can’t… not until monday… :frowning:

#154

Good Morning everyone, lately I haven’t too much time for painting, this is a small update, I think is not much but at least is something, I tried to blend more J’s face, made some work at the clothes, and I was thinking about the redefine all the mantle, hope u like and you can give some crit, all will be listened.

Rebecca I love the work you are doing at the table and the meals, congrats

thanks

#155

Here is a little close for the hand, for me is the most difficult part for drawing in all the body lol, so I think that it deserves a close up

#156

Enrique,

Thank you! Your piece is looking more and more awesome! I love the way you are painting the cloth in particular - and each face you have zoomed in on is coming out wonderfully! I guess my only suggestion at this point is to perhaps make the background a bit darker, but that’s really it ~ everything else is in lovely development. Can’t wait to see your next update!

Cheers,

#157

Awesome thanks Rebecca, that means lots coming from somebody such talented like u.

#158

Awww, no problem, Enrique! You’re very talented yourself. Thank you very much for the compliment.

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#159

DS: looking really good! Better with the blending, too.
Becca: that food makes me go hungry!

Here are my updates. I thought Digital Sol had a good point about the shading on my last, so I tweaked that some more:

Plus, I did the old mans head, which I found not only hard to read, but also hard to copy with all the wrinkles. So up for comments and crits, here goes:

#160

Maladie,

These are looking great! I think the next step might be to really detail with a small medium opacity brush (maybe 50 - 75%) with black or near black to really up the contrast and bring out details, particularly in the older gentleman’s face. Now that you have the basic values established, it just remains to really tweak and polish at an increasingly fine level of detail. I really am impressed with your progress here, and look forward to more updates!

Cheers,
