You and I need to get to our updates!
right you are! Here it goes:
I ran out of value range for the highlights a bit, so, as I couldn’t add light, I added darkness to make my highlights become lighter. I am trying to get a feel for the room… and the feet, Madam Kimmel, I know… the feet…

and another update,
still trying to establish a background and it makes the the whole thing feel much more real and sensible to me.
I think I’ll leave the background at this crutch-like state for now and will go back to the figure, taking care of her legs…

rblitz7 - I use the same brushes as I paint with (some customized brushes in the oilcategory in Painter) and set resaturation and opacity to very low valules, sometimes resat 0% and opacity down to 10%.
Some progress.
Hi Rebecca and Everyone
Ok Rebecca. I tried for anatomical accuracy instead of mood and color,
but ended up doing both. Shaved quite a bit off her torso, adjusted curves
here and there. Worked on whole figure, basically.
Put other female back into shadow. I now have the color harmony I was trying for and
unity of composition I am aiming for, I think.
Once again thanks for the push to do better and take it further.
More suggestions from you and anyone else are always welcome and appreciated
as always.
Top picture is yesterday’s post.
Bottom picture is today’s update.

Glenn
SpiritDreamer - I am actually having a hard time trying to decide which one I like better…
I like them both!
refined the foot as Ma’am Kimmel seemed to consider the foot worth a double reminder…

Thank’s…MR MU…:wavey: …
There are things I like about both of them myself…the beauty of digital, is I get to
keep all my versions, and learn from them, and apply what I’ve learned in my next
painting…AND THE BEAT GOES ON…
I like your painting, some nice stuff happening in it…you might want to work on that
shadow area around her shin bone, on lower extended leg…looks like a hole at the moment
needs more gradation to raise and round it some.
Hope that book Rebecca told you about helps in your process of painting.
Looking forward to seeing the results, and more updates from you…![]()

sturmkim,
Welcome aboard!
First I think you have a really nice start here, and I really would like to see you continue this piece!
If you don’t mind, could you please copy and paste the URL of your image into the EDIT POST / text editor image icon ~ it’s the yellow square with the sun / mountain pic.
That way we can see your lovely image without having to click on a link.
Glad you found us! :wip:
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Mr. Mu,
You are doing a FANTASTIC job here! :wip: Keep up the good work, and let’s see more of those nice updates!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
drawMonger,
It’s quite nice to see your progression on this one! :wip: It’s cool to see how rough the piece starts out to be, and how much it changes.
SaraD,
Beautiful work, as usual!
The skin texture is almost velvety, very nice work!! ![]()
Glenn,
Keep going on this one.
I like the colors a lot, but there are a few problems with the drawing. Keep pushing the single figure, I’d like to see how you develop it! ![]()
Tremendous work, everyone!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
you’re so right…
it is fascinating how folks around here always manage to gently put the finger on the right (or rather not so right) spots, putting forward a question mark and I go “oh, erm, oops…yea… yea I know… hoped to get away with it…”
That’s what’s helping me improve! :buttrock:
Her left knee appear a little bit strange for me… maybe due to the shadow… don’t know exactly… but the rest is really perfect for my eyes… I always really like your style… pixel by pixel… much patience for a great result :applause:
