I think this is pretty much done.

I think there might be a problem with the right foot, I might have it a little small or something else weird. I’ve had a really hard time working digital lately. I had been doing only charcoal drawings for the past few months I kind of forgot how to work digitally. I was able to finish this one because I think it finally figured out some ways that I can use my charcoal drawing techniques for digital work. Here some extra shots if anyone cares to take a look. Thanks!

Hi guys,

Have been kind of busy after work these days, and so have been a bit slow to respond generally…but will try to take a look soon ~ it’s great to see people still enjoying this thread. Bear in mind that the most recent OFDW is OFDW 011 ~ hope you will join us there, as well ~ we’re one week into it, feel free to join in at any time!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

jinnseng,

Though perhaps not completely finished, the progress you have made on this piece is great! I know how hard it is to go back and forth between media ~ particularly when you’ve been ensconced for so long within one, the transition back and forth is tough. But I like how you’ve brought some of the charcoal / drawing sensibility into your piece. I hope you’ll continue to participate in the OFDWs! OFDW 011 is ongoing ~ for another week, then a new one will launch. Please feel free to join in at any time!

Cheers,

#206

Sorry i’m so late on this…but here’s my last update on this one. Great work all!

#207

drawMonger,

Really beautiful, sensitive work! Any plans for the background? I definitely love the sketchy feel and the sense that this has been intentionally left feeling a bit unfinished / painterly. Lovely work!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

#208

Thanks Rebecca! I’d like to do the background, but i don’t want to miss out on OFDW11…so might stop here with this one

Gotcha! See you there!

Hi Rebeccak and everyone,

first sorry for my very bad english.

I find these OFD-threads are very helpfully. Thank you for this workshops, references from photos with extraordinary great models.

In the past I only have read in cgtalk-forums, your comments, and looked for your great pictures. And what can I say, those threads itches in my fingers to take the pen and start drawing. (I hope I’ve say this clearly enough for understanding. Oje.)

What a shame! With a look in the rules I have read there is no time limit to post here. So for 3 days I began to draw from a pose OFD 010 and then, to late, I’ve read that is a time limit about 2 weeks.

I hope it's not a great problem and not too late, to post my work here.

And now I’have start the new workshop 011.

(By the way, this is also a good English practice for me.)

    My skills in drawing:

As a child and teenager I draw a lot of traditional art, with pencil and charcoal, inspired by Boris Vallejo and generally fantasy art. But with many anatomical errors. Sometimes I try acrylic for fun.

    My skills in digital art:

No more real beginner but far far away to be really good and I have not found my technic to color figures. So I tried this and that and between that I love my eraser and my Patience.

Yes I know: practice, practice, practice. :-)

Since I found your OFD-Workshops, I use my eye to find colors, not the Eyedropper Tool.

All in one I would say I’m newbie (newgie for girl?) with practicepracticepractice.

   Sorry for this long Preface.

   Ciao, see you in 011,

   Ravena

And here is my work, c&c welcome.

Ravena,

Welcome aboard! Wow, your piece is stunning! It’s great to have you here, and I hope that you will definitely continue to participate in our OFDWs.

Don’t worry ~ all OFDWs remain open on a continual basis ~ it’s just that a new OFDW is posted every 2 weeks, and people tend to move on to the new OFDW, as it’s best to work as a group. However, some people have posted months after the soft deadline, and that’s no problem with me!

I’ve taken the liberty of editing your post ~ it’s best to copy and paste the URL of your image into the square yellow sun/mountain icon in the EDIT POST text editor, so that people can see your work as an image and not have to click on a link. I hope you don’t mind!

Thank you for telling us about yourself, and we’re happy to have you here!

Cheers,

Hi Rebeccak,

thank you so much for your warm welcome and comment.

Yes, I will continue to participate in our OFDWs. :-)) As long as my slow type here does not you disturb. O God my English. lol

O and thank you for editing my post (image).

Ciao,
Ravena

#213

Hey, Great work Ravena! I love the way you’ve rendered the highlights on the right leg

#214

Ravena,

No problem! Your English is fine, I’m always impressed with those who speak more than one language (most of Europe can ~ most of America can’t) ~ so please don’t be shy!

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Hi drawMonger,

thank you, in the moment I grew one foot, because of your friendly words. Thanks for the praise. And thanks to Rebeccak.

Ciao,
Ravena

Finally got around to finishing it. I got a little lazy toward the end but

Now I can take some time and view and enjoy everyone elses work until the next OFDW!

#217

Mecha,

Gah!!! I don’t know what it is, do you ever experience not being able to post to a thread? Or am I just deflicted?

At any rate ~ now that I’m in! Woo! I have to say I’m becoming a big fan of your work. Really love the color environment in this piece, and the economy with which you paint. The one thing that’s bugging me is the area around the navel ~ perhaps too dark, too big a brush stroke there. Apart from that, I think this is a beautiful work!

Cheers,

LOL… Im a man on a mission!

I definitely didnt refine it as much as should have I guess. The stomach is something I wont argue on. Im at a point now where I start to get tired with pieces that I dont finish right away. I almost didnt with this one but felt guilty the more I looked at it. -J
