'Once' MMORPG looking for Concept/2D artists

#1

Hello,

The Once MMORPG team is currently looking for talented concept and 2D artists. Once is an open source MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) being developed under the GPL license. More information can be found at the official site: http://www.once.net.nz/ .

We're looking for people in the following areas:

[ul]
[li] Concept artist: Draws sketches, and traditional artwork, and blueprints to aid modellers. Must have strong artistic ability.[/li][li] 2D/Interface artist: Designs in-game interfaces, Client skins, advertising, webite themes, etc. Experience in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent a must.[/li][/ul]* More information on any of these roles can be found here: http://www.once.net.nz/wiki/moin.cgi/HelpUs

Once is an open source project, so no one on the team gets paid for their work. However, there are other advantages to joining the team. To name a few:

[ul]
[li] Applicants get valuable experience with challenges in the art/design field.[/li][li] Applicants get to join in on an intensly creative process, and are rewarded with recognition. Everyone who works on the project gets their name in the credits list, regardless of where, when, or how much they helped.[/li][li] Applicants gain the trust and respect of their peers. In an open source project, trust and respect are based on work completed, rather than prior experience, sallery, or other external factors. ANYONE can join the team and make a name for themselves.[/li][/ul]Artists on the Once team have a high degree of artistic freedom. If you ever wanted to draw game characters or objects and know that they were going to be used, this is your chance!

If you are interested in joining this great project as an artist, don’t hesitate to contact the Art director (Alex Budovski) at: artadmin@once.net.nz

  • Please attach a zip file of your portfolio with the email. Only show your best work, so don’t have the zip too large.

We also have an IRC channel, so if you want to pop in and ask around, please do so. Info can be found here: [http://www.once.net.nz/contact.html](http://www.once.net.nz/contact.html)
