Odd clipping behavior

#1

ZBrush newbie working on my first final sculpt. Anyone know what I’ve done wrong to get the behavior shown in the attached image? I used ClipRect to cut down the height of this boot, and theses weird planar shapes came out of nowhere. I had previously sculpted on the boot while the area above my intended clip line was hidden. Other than that, nothing fancy on my end.

This happened on another subtool as well, but I ended up just deleting it and recreating it. Figured I should probably try to track down the issue before I reaaalllly screw myself on something complicated.

It’s just the nature of the clip brushes. The don’t play nice sometimes, especially with symmetry. Have you tried with symmetry off? Then just mirror and weld. Or even try the trim brush rather than the clip brush.

Turning off symmetry unfortunately didn’t fix it. It’s weird, I’ve used it on multiple other areas with no problem.

Trim brush did the trick, though. So at least I can move on with this area of the model while searching for solutions to the issue. Thank ya.

Yeah, I find myself just jumping between clip/trim/symmetry off/on when I get these errors.
