Ok, Vue is really starting to piss me off now:banghead:
It’s one thing if a program has bugs… or just simply broken functions, because those usually come with a future fix or a workaround. Vue, on the other hand, is UNPREDICTABLY BROKEN!!!
An hour ago, object export was working fine. Exported out 2 1million+ poly terrains, no problem. Tweak my scene a little more (nothing drastic, just changed some material and atmosphere settings). Now, whenever I try to export an object I always get the message “Unable to write file, please check that you have enough disk space”. WTF Vue! You need more than 500gb of disk space to write a 30mb file!?!
Thought maybe it was just that terrain, so I tried another. FAIL!
Thought it was my scene, so I tried another. FAIL!
Thought I needed to restart Vue and try those 2 things again. FAIL! FAIL!
Then I thought I should restart my machine and try those 2 yet again. FAIL! FAIL!
Reset my options in Vue, restarted Vue, restarted my machine, tried different files, different objects FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL!!! The only thing I’ve been able to successfully export out is a terrain less than 1mb! That’s just slightly more complex than a box.
To make matters worse, my terrains spontaneously become hidden and I have to go up to the object menu and un-hide them. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:banghead::banghead::banghead:
If anyone has a suggestion I’m all ears, if not… well, it felt good to get that out.
oh btw: Vue 7.2 (latest build) on OSX 10.5.6. It’s a mac pro octo with plenty of ram and a geforce 8800.
