Nvidia Quadro Vs Nvidia GTX

#1

Hey there, I am trying to understand the differences between having a quadro or a gtx for professional work as some vendors allow you to set up both a GTX and a Quadro when you are building your computer at their website.

Lets take for example these two specific cards, 4GB NVIDIA GTX 970 and 2 GB NVIDIA Quadro K2000 would the gtx be better then the quadro when dealing with all sorts of 3D work even some video editing and image editing? why is the 2 GB NVIDIA Quadro K2000 much more expensive than the newer 4GB NVIDIA GTX 970?

Just trying to understand which card to choose if I will mainly be working with 3D(Modeling and Sculpting), Image Editing(Photoshop and Illustrator), Video Editing(Premier and After effects), Image Compositing (Nuke).

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

There have been several in depth discussions on this here already. Maybe check the search function in this forum to get an overview.

I agree with you just need to search quadro vs geforce

you need to mention your 3d software because some programs don’t care which card other than the one with the strongest hardware. Others do care about certain key features and optimizations of the quadros.
