Nuke not rendering Flipbook

#1

I have problems rendering a flipbook from nuke. Comp is nothing complicated, a corner pin and some keying on a 2K exr sequence and it’s rendering all good until it hits a specific frame. At this point the render time goes up from 1 or 2 seconds per frame to 1 minute 20 seconds and the flipbook render stops.

I can’t cancel the render or quit Nuke.
Had the same problem yesterday, same script, but another frame(316 instead of 320).
Write permissions for my /var/tmp path are all OK, no disk errors, checked the original footage for that frame, all good.

Good news: I pinpointed the problem to the corner pin, if I disable it I can render into a flipbook. Bad news is - I need taht corner pin.

I alredy deleted that node, cretead a new one, now I get this message

As I’m not sure what your cornerpin is doing this is a total shot in the dark…

cornerpins carry the potential to massively increase the size of your bounding box (if the pins suddenly get very spread out or are tracked wrong and are glitched) - couple with with the potential for motion blur and nuke can have a hard time dealing with such a huge bounding box calculation. A fix would be simply putting a crop (set to the format of your comp usually) after the corner pin (be advised, it may cause issues downstream if you are reversing the corner pin at any stage)

I’m just guessing here, but generally if Nuke hits a sticky frame and a transform is involved then it is usually down to a oversized bounding box issue.

Thanks for your reply.
Looks like their was an issue with the rackers feeding the corner pin, couldn’t even open the skript on another computer.

Good to know about that bbox thing, will keep that in mind(or die tryin).

No problem, is it fixed?

Yes, copied the animation of the trackers instead of using expressions. Never had this before though.
