nParticles converted to polygons

#1

So I’m stuck, I would appreciate any ideas I can get. I haven’t used Maya particles much before. I have nParticle emitter set up as a blob of water moving through space. When they are nParticles they render fine. I converted the nParticles to Polygons via the Modify menu, but on certain frames the converted polygons fails to update. For example frame 55 will render five frames in a row and the next frame to render will be frame 60. It seems to happen during faster moving parts of the scene. There must be a setting I’m missing somewhere?

Here’s a rendered example of what I mean:

Make sure you don’t have any stray particles flying far away from the group. When the bounding box of the particle system is large the require voxel memory for the particle to poly is large. You can also increase the maxTriangleResolution on the particle system, but it is best to first ensure that no particles go flying far away. (or if they do then kill them)
