I am trying to make a gravel (nParticle) fall with gravity from 4.9 meters height to the ground in 1 second. Thats what would happen in the real world if you don’t take into account the air resistance.( S= 1/2gt^2).Even if I zero out the Air Density to 0, it still falls really slow ! My scene units is in meters and I tried various fps settings with no luck. Is there any othere way besides Time Scale ? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
nParticle real world units freefall settings?
This is pretty interesting you’ve taken time to measure it, as I also always had this feeling that simulations in nSolver take too slow - always seem not in scale. Therefore I almost always drop Space Scale in nucleus node to 0.5, 0.3, or even 0.1. I’d rather not change time scale - this works good as is, unless you’re making slow motion effect, but remember to attach time scale to strength values in your constraints as they don’t work well when changing time scale.
like said before if you work in meters you should set your space scale in the nucleus node to 0.01 or another possibility would be setting your units to cm and and use it like they are meters. then your particles should fall 4.9 units (m if you decide its meters) per second with everything on default.
