Hi.
I think the title says it all. I’ve got an animation of some bits of a nut exploding using nParticles, then attracting to another object.
How do I pull this instanced lot of geometry into Realflow so it can interact with my chocolate simulation?

I didn’t want to go out of Maya but I used this little tool:
Convert Instancer to Geometry #2
to convert it all to geometry. Not ideal but it works for now.
I had a go at it and ended up on the webpage for that script very quickly.
Another approach would be to go
Modify --> Convert --> nParticle to Polygon
Then you have to tweak the settings on the nParticleShape node in the Output Mesh section. But then you’re trying to reproduce your original geometry with a blobby mesh, which is obviously not ideal. It would get super heavy maybe, and would still not be an accurate approximation of your original instanced stuff.
Ah yes that would work.
The amount of peanut pieces has been reduced to 60 so the simulation isn’t so heavy anymore. That script does the trick through.
I’ll keep your method in mind for when we do something that doesn’t have to be so accurate.
