Hello! I am using 3ds MAX 2010 and I made a TARDIS. Basically a box, all four sides except for the doors are basically the same. I am trying to unwrap the textures onto it, and bake it into a nice image that I can doctor with in PHOTOSHOP to pull off more detail than what I can achieve in MAX. I have tried selecting the entire TARDIS, unwrapping it, but I end up with a million pieces on the TEXTURE bake map.
I have tried selecting ONE SIDE of the TARDIS, and baking a texture that way, and get the same result. How can I select say, the left side, and bake that so it lays the texture FLAT, so I can doctor it, and bring it back into MAX on my model? There has to be some simple step I am missing here. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
