No Vray light icon in Maya

#1

Dear Lads,
I wish to set up some vray lights in my Maya scene (2015, all service packs installed) but the light icons do not show up and I do not see the effects of the light in viewport 2.0. I can tweak the light settings though.
I’m using an AMD Radeon HD 8730M card, recent driver installed with DX11. I wish to make that light icon visible.
Thanks in advance

Change the viewport render engine from OpenGL Core Profile back to OpenGL under Display, in the Maya Prefs.

Thanks for the tip.
I do not have that OpenGL.
I have OpenGL and DX11 only. It was on OpenGL by default but I tried DX11, still no luck :confused:

Another thing.
In the Maya output window it says

Initialized VP2.0 renderer {
Version : 5.3.2.800. Feature Level 5.
Adapter : Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Vendor ID: 32902. Device ID : 358
Driver : aticfx64.dll:14.301.1013.0.
API : DirectX V.11. Max texture size : 16384 * 16384.
Max tex coords : 32
Shader versions supported (Vertex: 5, Geometry: 5, Pixel 5).
Active stereo support available : 0
GPU Memory Limit : 2112 MB.
CPU Memory Limit: 7675.38 MB.
}
It means it uses my Intel card??
I set it to high performance in Catalyst Control Center, that is the way to force an application to use the AMD card. If it really means how to get it to use the AMD? Maybe it will get the job done.
