#61

I do not understand this: MIA
What does it mean?

#62

It is a military expression Missing In Action, they are out there somewhere and have not reported in. It could be worse KIA which is killed in action attacked by a errant wacom tablet LOL

Thanks Rich! Now it is clear:)

#64

Thats the one

#65

Hi Dave. Any news? Is he K.I.A?

#66

I think the delay in posting the winners is a sign that all the entries were excellent. Now waiting for the next challenge.

Is the winner and runners up going to get a mention in Digital artiste matte painting 2?

Cheers

Rich

I’m getting bored of holding my breath in anticipation

#68

Hold your breath for just a little longer

Originally at the beginning of June i was in touch with a few Matte painters who in good will were very enthusiastic about helping judge the contest, however since then it kind of went a little pair shaped, for good reasons i’m sure, they were unable to find time or simply didn’t get back to me.

However, in the last two weeks a new plan has been set in motion between myself and Leigh (CGtalk mod) which has resulted in a few great judges getting on board  and this is, as i write coming to a conclusion with a final winner.

So please forgive the absense, it’s been a little frustrating from my end  but fingers crossed this time next week we should have a winner.

Thanks to everyone for been patient.

  • Dave

#72

#73

They are masters!
Thanks everlite the challenge!

#74

I have just recieved a large bruise on my chin, partly owing to my jaw dropping and hitting the table, ouch.

Cheers Rich

gone to fetch some ice

#75

Wow, really nice work from those judges. Nice to know that some really cool matte painters and artist are going to be looking at the crap I entered into this comp.

#76

I know how you feel, I reckon for comic amusement over a tea and digestive they will look at mine and fall about laughing. I will probaly get a critique along the lines of “should have gone to specsavers” ha ha. Everyones a winner but remember the person who gets most applause on a marathon is the man who is last in.

Really am looking forward to Monday and my insurance company has just rang to inform they have overcharged me for two years and giving me £400. I can finally get a wacom tablet now so everything is good.

good luck to everybody who took part I may not win but I made a lot of friends along the way.

Rich:thumbsup:

#77

wow. I’m very proud to be juged by such great masters! Congrats Dave for your efforts!

#78

I agree, great judges. A big thanks to Dave and Leigh for putting this all on!

#79

Cheers guys, a day left

Curious before the results are announced, if you were a judge and could choose a winner, except yourself, who would you guys choose?

Be interesting to see the outcome

Thats a hard one as this has produced some fantastic art but better than that it has made the community tighter no matter what standard you are…

Dave you deserve a pat on the back

Cant sleep now too excited.
