nhair Sample Density not changing anything

#1

ok. i have used hair before nhair and I know that when I change a follicle’s Samle Density(yes I have unchecked the fixed rate box…) the behaviour of the hair changes and gives more or less details (cv) . But now nothing happens no matter what numbers I feed it. Is something wrong with nhair or is it just me missing something crucial? :banghead:
Thanks!

It is an update bug. You can either save/reload the scene after changing sample density or do “dgdirty -a”. If you do the latter hit rewind before playing back… it could crash if you do it in the middle of a simulation.

Thank you Duncan. It’s good to see you in this forum helping people out. I really appreciate it.

I don’t mean to be impolite but I have to say that sometimes working in Maya is really painful(even when you know what you’re doing) and non productive. For example this nhair bug plus some normals on a skinned model (on the same scene) that weren’t showing up and some shelves that disappeared (why is this still happening  !!!) added up one day of work for trying to find what is going wrong and how to bypass the problems. Anyway…

Thanks again for you reply.
