nHair collision help

#1

Hi,
I am having some problems to make collide nHair with my mesh.
First thing I tried is turning the body mesh to a nClorh rigid. The hair collides fine except in the base, where the root of each hair kind of breaks. This is happens because the hair has the root inserted some centimeters inside of the mesh. So this causes the break,

I tried using collide spheres or cubes, but it just doesn´t work. I select the curves and create the collide sphere, but when simulation runs, hairs pass trough the sphere. They don´t collide at all.
What am I missing there?

Can someone help on that subject?
thanks

Hey, I don’t think nHair works with collide spheres and collide cubes. I think those are for the classic hair system. The way to do it is with nCloth rigids like you had. To avoid the errors with the base colliding, I think you can turn up the start curve attract a bit, then adjust the graph for the attraction scale so it’s at 1 at the base, then drops off where you want the dynamics to be back on the curves.

Let me know if it works.

Hi,
yes I ended up finding that star curve attract helps a lot. Also setting up the right mass and the space scale of nucleus.
Thanks
