I’m using Corel Painter Essentials 4 (the version that comes with the Wacom Intuos3 tablets). After I flip the pen to use the eraser tool, when I go back to drawing the brush is resized back to the default size. If I instead click on the eraser tool in the toolbar and then click back to the brush tool, it remembers the size that I was using. Is there a way that I can have Painter not reset the brush tool when I flip the pen?

I’d be happy to help if I had Painter Essentials 4 installed on my computer. As I recall, though (from working on the Beta team), there’s no way to save custom brush variants in Essentials 4.
Your best bet is to post your question at Essentials Cafe since that site is for Painter Essentials and there will be someone there who can give you the right answer.
