Newbie question: Exporting to Maya with texture

#1

I’m new to both Maya and Modo. My problem is that I cannot export a model from Modo and open it in Maya and still have the UV map and texture.

Here is what I’ve done: I create a model in Modo, create a UV set and apply a texture. Everything looks good in Modo. I use the ‘Export As’ and select MayAsciii.

Next… I open Maya and open the scene. The model comes in fine, but there is no texture or UV map. When I open Windows/Relationship Editors/UV Linking/UV-centric there is nothing displayed.

How do I get the UV and textures to export from Modo and show up in Maya?

Thanks, and sorry about the simple newbie question.

Also a note: Modo doesnt have the best UV edititing around. I would use maya for it…It is far superior.
A second stupid option (stupid as it doesnt really help) is to uv in maya.

Just a little advise thake it or leave it.
