I’ve been reading different post regarding painting digitally. I’ve gathered a couple ideas from my readings. The first is that you have to just open up your selected application, mine being Photoshop, and just go at it. That goes with any medium. The second lesson or idea that sticks with me is the 2 basic brushes you should need to get started. One being a hard edge paint brush and the second tells me about a soft edge smudge brush. I may be wrong, it’s 1am but I must propose the following right now. There are excellent workshops in this forum. The DSG gives users a task with or without guidelines. The anatomy thread has or had sessions. How about a workshop on digital painting. Start with basic spheres, squares, cylinders etc. Now here’s where I think we hit the nail on the head. From what I’ve read and what I’m experiencing, new digital painters are unsure how to use given tools. Tools such as different brush settings, or using multiply layers. What I’m suggesting is a workshop that will provide basic goals and everyone can share their frustrations and accomplishments just like every other thread on here. Let’s take the sphere. It’s simple, but can become complex. Participants can tackle one thing at a time. “how do I blend my colors on this sphere?”. This might have been done. If so, I’m sure I’ll get a reply with a link. That would be great. I’m looking at all the constructive threads on here, but I haven’t seen one for digital painting itself. There’s this photshop thread, but it doesn’t have the workshops or assignments I was thinking about. Thanks.
New Workshop Suggestion

So I was going through some threads and I found this

It’s exactly what I was suggesting. Why try to reinvent the wheel right?
