Get yourself a copy of ‘the illusion of life’ and ‘the animator’s survival kit’ - two books everyone should have, who wants to get into animation.

And then start simple. get a good understanding of the 12 principles and start with the bouncing ball example. there are tons of tutorials out on the internet.

Re: Drawing - different people will give you different opinions. I would highly suggest you do it. it helps you, to rough out ideas, do thumbnail sketches and visualize your ideas and concepts much faster and without having to rely on a computer or some software.

I would look into programs like AnimationMentor. There are cheaper alternatives, based on the same principles. They might be not as top-tier in terms of quality, but they are definitely based upon AM basis. They start from foundations, like a basic walk, posing, balls weight, and in the second class move to body mechanics. It’s a very streamlined approach, which is hard to beat. Bear in mind, each class takes around 3-4 months. You can master first or two, and then take a break, learning on your own.

Thanks…will look into it

Regarding Blender - there are tutorial videos for it on Youtube, I think you should check them out. In case you’re not aware, the new upcoming release, 2.8, is going to be a BIG one, they’ve (apparently) changed a lot of things and overhauled it, so - search for tuts for that, not any version prior to it

Which country are you in, btw?
