Hey Saye,

Nice painterly style you have going here, I really like that unique organic rock look. Unfortunately this would pass as a matte for a animated film or heavily stylized film. It just doesnt have the photoreal look a matte should have. Looks more as a concept art that would be used to continue into a final matte paintning. Also, it looks a bit unfinished… is this a WIP? Seems like you put alot of work in those mg/bg rocks but barely any detail in the FG. If you increase the detial and photorealism using more photo ref to fit in this image it could come out a great piece!! cause the concept is awesome and the style. GJ

hey, I agree with the comment above,
the clouds look like you used a lot of one same brush or heavy tiling , they don’t look natural.
you have some issues with you black and white values in the aereal perspective like in some pointy rocks in the background and the far background , the concept is really cool , and yeah more photo textures will help it look totally believable

Thanks for all the feedback. Your right about all the comment that you’ve given. More references would help sell the piece as far as it being photo real. For me that just takes a lot of the fun out of painting though, which is probably more of a personal issue.

I’ll still go over it again and add the thing that you’ve suggested though.
