Need Urgent help with Passive Colliders please :)

#1

hey, so long story short I have a project due on friday and am trying to make my upper half of my body a passive collider in relation to a shirt which I made, the shirt is an ncloth and is ready to go (have tested creating a passive collider on a simple polygon cube and it worked fine).
My problem is I can’t convert any of my body parts to passive colliders when I try nothing happens at all, anyone have any clue as to why this is? I’ll check this post in the morning any input would be great, thanks.

How are you trying to make the ‘upper half’ a collider? By selecting faces? Wont work. Need to select the entire object.

Otherwise seems like maybe your object is already either an nrigid or ncloth?

Try making a cube a collider, and connecting the outMmesh from your body to the inMesh on the cube. Then delete any faces you dont want in the sim.

Obviously something is wrong somewhere (hard to tell without seeing the scene) and its best to start from scratch or at least with a different object.

Thanks for the reply but your solution didn’t work, either that or I wasn’t sure what I was doing . Its due tomorrow so I don’t think I will get enough time to fix this problem will just have to keep my characters naked.

Hello,

If you want only some part of your mesh to collide, you can paint ‘collide strenght’ vertex map to 0. (but as Howard told you, you can’t select faces when you apply passive collider, you have to be in object mode)

You can also create a low polygon cage, wrap it on your high poly mesh and turn it as passive collider.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the tip, ill keep that in mind for next time. Projects done now though, handed it in with naked models :stuck_out_tongue:
