For starters, move the red disk so that the face and the sword/stick intersect it.
Right now the figure is very simplistic. It needs a lot of design development that seems to be out of your current skill level.

My best advise to you is to let a ‘good’ tattoo artist resolve this design
–without the rising sun in it’s current location.

I moved the red disk and changed a couple things. So your saying Im just not good enough to design this? I know I’m not great but the point was to tattoo something that I designed haha. The tattoo artist can add shading and whatnot but I would think that too much more detail would be too hard to do and risk lines running together when tattoo’d. I dont live in california where they can tattoo anything. Anyway thanks for the help, if there are any tips that I could maybe fix myself that would be great, or else I will give in and get the tattoo artist to fix it haha.

You might want to fine tune the line weight on the sword, hand, back, and back of the arms it looks rather meh atm. Some lines need to be thicker and more dynamic to give it more wow factor.

You really need a very accurate image to show the tattoo artists. The longer their waiting list the better they are. The ones that you can walk in on are usually crap at what they do. Also consider using the ink that only needs 1 laser treatment to remove, just in case they screw up. You don’t want failblog results… http://ugliesttattoos.failblog.org/
