Need help with my Master thesis (5 min short test)

Hi society.

I am currently working on my Master thesis, and would appreciate that you could use 5 minutes for this short test, as I am getting in desperate need of some test results.

I am working with facial expressions in virtual agents and how the expressions affect the user experience.

All you have to do is choose one of the following links, look at the videos that are presented there and answer the short questionnaire.

Hi

I think you’ve got a good idea going here. If you don’t mind, I’ll give you a crit or 3: You should possibly try to exaggerate the body’s animation a little. Also, you should try to add visible brows to the face EG. with black lines. It will improve the emotion a LOT. Since this is a WIP, I’m sure you will improve the rendering and texturing, as the “gray scalish” look it currently has, obscures the details and also hurts the emotion.

Thanks for your reply :thumbsup: and I will take your comments into consideration when writing about the design in my report as well. The topic about how much expressions and body language affects your judgement is an interesting field, as everyone is used to look at other people and make quick judgement about their emotional state etc.

I know the animation could be a lot better, but sadly my project turned into a more theoretically related project than the practical part of it, which I would have like to be working more on.

I hope when I’m finished with my masters this summer, that I get more time to actually start doing more animations than just the small “quick” uni related animations, which I don’t have time to complete and all, because of time limits.
