Need help with maya joint tool!

I have a problem with Maya joint tool …when a create a joint chain the bones representing the connection between the joints are not drawn right, they are not connecting the joints. to illustrate this problem i am posting an image of it and also my joint tool settings
i have reinstalled Maya and it was working fine…then the problem reappeared…

Try to delete prefs folder in you user directory. Drive:\Users\userName\Documents\maya\2012-x64\prefs

If this will not solve, then maybe the problem is in you graphics adapter’s drivers.

to me it looks like you have joints right on top of other joints and children joints that are hidden. I can pretty much emulate your screenshot from my maya, no graphic bugs related.

I might be wrong, but if you create 1 single joint does this happen?

tried that already it does not help at all

not at all even when i go to the character generator the skeleton appears all messed up

any joint you create is represented this way… I can start a blank scene and start creating a joint and it will be the same…

Is it possible to upload a picture of the outliner or hypergraph so we can see the hierarchy.

upload that scene to .ma so we can see if it happens on other mayas
