Need Help - System shuts down when simulating FumeFX

#1

Hello guys,

am working on very basic fireball simulation, it works like charm when am simulating with less spacing, say 80x80x100. when I increase the spacing to 150x150x180. It simulates for 30 frames and my PC shutsdown, here are my PC configuration:
Intel i7960 3.6G.Hz, DX580G Mobo
16 Gigs RAM (4x4GB)
Nvidia GTX570 1GB DDR5
Apps used: Autodesk 3DS Max 2011, Sitni Sati FumeFX 2.0/2.1A
and its the same when I do the sim on Max 2012 with FumeFX 2.1C

any kinda reply/suggestion/information would be helpful

Thanx

Aditya

If it shuts down, as in not a restart then for a fact it is an overheating problem no doubt. This is to protect the components from damage. There is something wrong with your cpu cooler!

Try checking your temperature while simulating with SpeedFan!
