Need help creating a new World (machinima project needs concept art help)

Hello. I’m the sole proprietor of Mu Productions, a production company dedicated to expanding the world of machinima (real-time 3D rendered animation). My first piece, Ours Again, has gotten some pretty great reviews and has even been featured on TV. My website (as primitive as it is) is at:

Mu Nansen.com

You can download Ours Again there, too. I have a couple other projects in production currently, but just a short and a commercial. It’s a good place to start, but I know machinima can go much further.

In fact I would like to take it all the way to the very limits of imagination. I have an idea for a film that would create an entirely new world unlike anything seen before (or at least that I’ve ever seen). My influences would be The Fifth Element, The Dark Crystal, and something like Princess Mononoke, but visually it would not have too much in common with these films. They’re just references to how entire worlds are created, especially in how The Dark Crystal doesn’t have any human characters, same as I plan my film to not have humans.

The problem is that I am a terrible artist. I’m a writer, editor, producer, director, etc., but I cannot draw to save my life. Basically what I’m interested in is someone with a flair for creating scenes from their imagination. I can tell people all about the story, but if I could just get what’s in my head out onto paper, I think support for it would really take off.

Anyways, just thought I would post here in case by some miracle someone happened to be browing that would have their interest piqued. There’s no guarantee that the project will ever get made, although I’ll try very hard to get it financed, and if it does get made there would obviously be rewards. I’m kind of picky, though, and am not going to collaborate with just anyone with a set of pencils. I’m really just posting here on a whim, with zero expectation for finding my savior artist.

If you’re interested in the idea, I’ll describe two characters that someone could give a shot if they were so inclined. The overall theme is that the good guys use life as technology, and the bad guys use technology as life.

  • The hero of the film is an intimidating figure. He’s extremely strong, taller than most everyone, and is an exceptional leader (think Optimus Prime with the Autobots). He carries a weapon that has a psychic connection to his mind, as it is almost a living metal object. It can form into a sword, a staff, or a polearm in an instant. The hero’s armor is not forged, it is grown, as it is its own organism. Rather than metal, the material seems almost like ivory, or to be made out of extremely strong fingernail-like material. When damaged in battle, the armor is placed in a sort of incubator and heals itself.

  • The masses of enemy forces are made up of quadriped monsters that are more machine than animal. These creatures were obviously not constructed, but were instead grown from self-replicating machines. They personify machines taking on a life of their own.

Anyways, if either of these concepts pique your interest, lemme know and maybe link me to some other work you’ve done. Like I said, though, I just posted here on a whim and am not expecting miracles. Thanks for your time, though.
