need an advice about a good monitor!!!

#1

Hay guys,
I am searching for a good monitor for 3d/cgi work. my work includes/will include modeling, rigging, animation, shading, texture, rendering, digital painting in photoshop also matte painting, digital sculpting, compositing, etc… (if there is any importance for it). any way i have two questions:

  1. can someone explain to me what do i need to look at when searching for a good monitor for everthing i mentioned above? one thing i know for sure is that it needs to be with ips method and i heard something about ms? (2,5,6,8…). i am looking for a good 23-24 inches monitor. also, can someone tell me what does the contrast ratio stuff that is written on the spec means and if it’s an important info to look at when searching for a good monitor for the work above? is it better when the number is high or something? (1:5M, 1:1M, 1:1000?..)? sometimes i see “dynamic…” sometimes dont…well you understood. for now the price doesn’t matter that much…it depends on the monitor spec…
  2. i looked at 4 modules. can you tell me if you recommend one of them. i wrote them in price order (from the cheapest)
    a) LG IPS LED 24EA53T
    b) LG IPS IPS237L
    c) LG IPS LED 23EA73LM
    d) LG IPS LED 24EA53VQ

maybe you recommend something else?

thx.

I just bought a second Dell U2713HM - great monitor and good for 3D because it’s sRGB. Many apps like ZBrush, Mudbox, etc don’t use colour profiles so a wide gamut screen will blow out colours incorrectly. It’s just too early to buy an AdobeRGB screen for CG work IMO.

srry for the ignorance but what do you mean by saying “colour profiles”? also adobergb"? “srgb”? can you explain what do you mean and how can i see whice monitor has what? (general speaking)
also, i think that the “LG IPS LED 23EA73LM” and the “LG IPS LED 24EA53VQ” are a good start if i compare them to the dell you bought no? also it’s 23.8" so therefore it’s cheaper then yours no?

p.s contrast ratio should be high or no? what is better?
