Need a comet effect!

Hello everybody…i need help with someting…

PLEASE, HELP ME!

Particles do this rather nicely coupled with multipass motion blur (or and motion blur for that matter). The effect works as long as you don’t move the camera, if you do you have to render the effect first and then map it on to a plane or apply some other trickery of the sort.

I’ve attached the max scene for you to play around with.

Wow that looks great my friend…thanks a lot for that…but i did’nt understand what you mean with moving the camera…that damages the effect?..cause i need to move the camera too…but thanks a lot i will play with this…thanks again!

Hye i’ve been played with this but when i merged in my escene…it doesn’t render…like it was invicible…you know why this happens?..the camera has the same properties…and particles too

Merging Particle Flow stuff is rather iffy… Make sure that all the events are linked properly. Could you show a screenshot of your particle view?

It’s your same particle view and camera…i just merged into another escene…i just changed the particle color and birth…thats it…

the reason it can damage the particles is because if the camera is moving up quickly and the particles going from left to right quickly the motion blur will basically average those movments out so it’ll streak funny and won’t look right…

if you have combustion, you can render out to a format called RPF and tick the box that says velocity and that will give you a velocity channel for when you comp it, then apply a 3d motion blur and that should work also. just make sure you have the motion blur off for this render, cause your doing the blur in post.

the most likey reason for the particles not rendering is because the wires that conect the events aren’t there anymore. if you press 6 this’ll bring up the particle flow (just in case you didn’t know) on the “Pflow” (with the render operator in it) theres a little notch that comes out left click and drag to the notch at the top of the “event”…

hopefully that answers some questions for you.

hope that helps as-well
good luck

i could be that…but everyting is ok in the particke view…but i already done with this project, and this is what i did:

i render the escene of the comet alone for left side…then i maped a plane(with alpha channel) with the animation, so i merged to my escene and linked to the trajectory and looks very nice!

thanks for your help…it really helped me a lot!
